My old modem connected to my computer via usb leaving me ethernet port free for my xbox live. My new one connects via ethernet so I don't know how to connect my xbox live. I bought an ethernet splitter to connect both my computer and xbox to the single ethernet port in my modem. This left my computer not connecting to the internet. Help?How can I connect to xbox live with a modem?
It sounds like you purchased a hub. They are pretty much dead technology. You need to go to your local walmart and purchase a router. Hubs only allow one connection at a time. Home routers contain switches which will allow you to use both your computer and xbox at the same time.
