Can you Connect laptop to TV with HDMI cable?

You can't on my Compaq as it does not have a port and it is not HD ready anyway so will make no difference even if I found some sort of adapterCan you Connect laptop to TV with HDMI cable?
I have not found a way yet. Currently using a cable that has AV composite cables on one end and USB on the other. Check you tube you might have better luck. Can you Connect laptop to TV with HDMI cable?
Yes you can connect a laptop or other PC to a TV with an HDMI cable, as long as both devices have the HDMI connector. HDMI is designed for compatibility across a variety of devices, and it supports common consumer video formats as well as PC video formats. Check that the laptop has HDMI output (currently many do now, but perhaps most do not) and that the TV has HDMI input (virtually all TVs being made now do.)
Naturally, if both have HDMI jacks, then you can connect them. Where you might have a problem is with the audio. Many laptops do not send audio out on the HDMI jack, just video. On some of them you can change that in the control panel. On a few, you cannot.

All is not lost. If your laptop has an audio output jack, you can connect that through an adapter to the red/white audio input jacks that you'll find adjacent to one of the HDMI inputs on your TV. That's why they are there. Just connect the HDMI cable to that jack on the TV and select that input with your remote.
Yes, if you have the ports to do so on both devices.
Only if both have HDMI or mini display ports.
