So, I'm looking into saint names for confirmation. I'm reading different saint history and it's all the same. Every girl saint was a virgin, suffered, and died. I'd really like a saint who did more than that, preferably a girl. I have some male saints in mind that I connect with a little better, but I'd really like to find a girl saint. I know about all the well known female saints who did many great things, but I'm in a big confirmation group and all the well known ones are already being used, and I really don't want to have the same name as someone else.
(ex. St. Joan of Arc, St. Therese...)
And I don't mean any of this is a disrespectful way, it's just my opinion, i think to become a saint you should have to do more than just suffer and abstain from sex. I'm sorry if you take offense to this, but you can just ignore my question. You don't have to leave me rude comments.I need help with my Confirmation name?
My advice would be not to worry if you have the same saint name as someone else in your class. If you find a saint you connect with, what does it matter in the long run if someone else in the class chose the same person?
The patron saint I chose (St. Francis de Sales) was the person our parish is named after, and I was afraid that it sounded like I hadn't put any thought into my decision whatsoever, but he was the right choice.
Anyway, here are some interesting female saints who did more than be virgin martyrs:
Catherine of Siena
Teresa of Avila
Therese of Lisieux
Joan of Arc
Perpetua
Lutgarde of Aywieres
Hildegard of Bingen
Claire of Assisi
Elizabeth of Hungary
Monica
Bernadette Soubirous
Maria Goretti
Gemma Galgani

I think becoming a saint should have nothing to do with sex. To become a saint, you should have done something in your life that made a huge positive impact.
Here they are. Look them over ...

.
St Mary Magdalene, she is believed to be once a prostitute and she's the one who sat on Jesus feet and rubbed Jesus feet with perfumes using her hair to show her love and respect for Him who had saved her.
God bless you!
Moro. 10: 3-5
3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.
How about Saint Clare:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clare_of_As鈥?/a>
At least she wasn't killed.
If you scroll down far enough you'll see she was made the patron saint of television in 1958.
