My life is really bland. How can I find friends more like me?

Well, the friends I have now are amazing, but it doesn't really seem like I have nearly as much fun as I did with my old friends.聽


I am in grade 9, just started highschool this year. None of my old friends went to the same highschool as me, but at the time I thought this was great, I could get out and meet new friends.


See, all my old friends were mostly people I had known since I was little, so I was a bit excited to meet new people.


Anyways, I guess I got to highschool assuming making friends would be really easy. It was, but I never really made a ';group'; of really close besties. At lunch, I usually switch around each day between different groups. Usually I do this with my one other friend. However, even that friend isn't the most exciting. Both of us find that we run out of things to talk about way to quickly.


I just haven't really connected with anyone very close. There isn't really anyone at my highschool who I would consider a best friend; someone I can talk to about anything, someone who I can do anything with, and someone I can just really be myself around.


I think my problem is I am very shy and peaceful on the outside, so on the first couple weeks of school when everyone is forming their groups, I kind of get attracted to the other shy people. But then, whenever I get to know someone well I usually become very talkative and have a sense of humour, and things like that. I can just be myself. So then I am kind of left with the people who really don't match my personality.聽


I always want to talk to the more outgoing people, but I am scared they won't want to talk to me, or they won't want me in their group and I will just be in the way. Like, they all know eachother all ready. I feel like I am interupting their friendship and I just don't want to get ditched by everyone.聽


I am really rambling here, but I really jut don't fit in with anyone at my highschool. It's really upsetting, since it seems like all my old friends are having a great time in highchool, making tight groups of close bestfriends while I am here with my one friend who I really can't connect with.聽


I would apprecaite ANY suggestions you have to make my friend life a little more happy.
