Does the channel on my router have to do with Nintendo DS Connectivity or whatever?

I was just wondering if the channel on my router interfears with my Nintendo DS being able to connect like does the nintendo ds use a different channel because my Wii connects fine but not my DsDoes the channel on my router have to do with Nintendo DS Connectivity or whatever?
if the nintendo connects to a network or internet, then highly the router controls the nintendo ds accessing the network or internet.
